Responsibilities
- Set up and monitor overnight polysomnographic studies, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Prepare equipment and calibrate systems according to study protocols.
- Monitor physiological signals during testing and make necessary technical adjustments.
- Score sleep studies and generate reports for physician interpretation.
- Educate patients on procedures, address concerns, and ensure comfort throughout the study.
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and inventory of sleep lab equipment.
- Adhere to HIPAA, facility protocols, and AASM guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Polysomnographic Technology or Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program.
- RPSGT or RRT-SDS credential preferred or required by hiring facility/state.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in conducting sleep studies.
- Proficient in scoring sleep stages and identifying respiratory events and limb movements.
- Excellent patient interaction and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness and ability to accept travel assignments across various healthcare facilities.
