Job Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Radiology to assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, interventional radiology, and sedation administration. This role is ideal for RNs with a strong background in IV therapy, patient monitoring, and radiologic safety. The Radiology RN ensures patients are well-prepared, comfortable, and safe during imaging and minimally invasive procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiology procedures
- Administer IV contrast, moderate sedation, and pain management medications as needed
- Monitor patients before, during, and after imaging procedures, ensuring safety and comfort
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Educate patients on procedure expectations, potential risks, and post-procedure care
- Recognize and respond to contrast reactions, respiratory distress, or cardiac complications
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and infection control measures
- Document patient assessments, procedural details, and medication administration in EHR
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in radiology, critical care, or procedural nursing
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Experience with IV sedation, patient monitoring, and emergency response preferred
- Strong understanding of radiologic procedures, contrast agents, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
