TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Preoperative (Preop) to prepare patients for surgical procedures. The Preop RN plays a critical role in ensuring patient readiness by conducting pre-surgical assessments, administering medications, and educating patients on their procedures and post-operative care. This position requires strong attention to detail, patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct preoperative assessments, including medical history review and vital sign monitoring
Prepare patients for surgery by initiating IVs, administering pre-surgical medications, and ensuring proper documentation
Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, anesthesia, and post-operative care
Ensure compliance with infection control, hospital policies, and patient safety standards
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to optimize patient care
Monitor patients for any changes in condition before transferring them to the operating room
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
Minimum 1 year of Preop, PACU, or surgical nursing experience preferred
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
Strong understanding of preoperative care, surgical protocols, and patient safety measures
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient advocacy skills
