Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor pediatric patients' conditions, reporting changes to physicians and healthcare teams
- Administer medications, vaccines, and IV therapy according to pediatric protocols
- Provide age-appropriate care and emotional support to young patients and families
- Assist in diagnostic tests, treatments, and specialized pediatric procedures
- Educate parents and caregivers on medication administration, chronic disease management, and developmental milestones
- Ensure compliance with pediatric safety protocols, infection control policies, and facility guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians, child life specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a pediatric or neonatal setting preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Strong knowledge of growth and development, pediatric diseases, and family-centered care
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, families, and healthcare teams
