TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurology to provide specialized care for patients with neurological disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy, and neurodegenerative diseases. This role is ideal for RNs with a strong background in neurological assessments, seizure management, and post-surgical neuro care.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patients with neurological conditions, tracking changes in consciousness, motor function, and cognition
Provide care for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injuries, and neurosurgery
Administer IV medications, anticoagulants, seizure medications, and pain management therapies
Recognize and respond to neurological emergencies, including seizures, increased intracranial pressure (ICP), and autonomic dysreflexia
Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans
Perform and document neurological assessments, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) evaluations, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) assessments
Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, rehabilitation goals, and post-discharge care
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
Minimum 2 years of experience in neurology, neuro ICU, or stroke unit nursing
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
Strong knowledge of neurological conditions, seizure management, and neuro-critical care interventions
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
