TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurology to provide specialized care for patients with neurological disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy, and neurodegenerative diseases. This role is ideal for RNs with a strong background in neurological assessments, seizure management, and post-surgical neuro care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients with neurological conditions, tracking changes in consciousness, motor function, and cognition
- Provide care for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injuries, and neurosurgery
- Administer IV medications, anticoagulants, seizure medications, and pain management therapies
- Recognize and respond to neurological emergencies, including seizures, increased intracranial pressure (ICP), and autonomic dysreflexia
- Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans
- Perform and document neurological assessments, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) evaluations, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) assessments
- Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, rehabilitation goals, and post-discharge care
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neurology, neuro ICU, or stroke unit nursing
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of neurological conditions, seizure management, and neuro-critical care interventions
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
