Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns.
- Monitor maternal and newborn vital signs and recovery progress.
- Assist with breastfeeding and lactation support.
- Educate new mothers on postpartum care, newborn care, and safety.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and screenings for both mother and baby.
- Recognize and respond to postpartum complications or neonatal distress.
- Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and postpartum nurses.
- Travel to various hospitals and mother-baby units for temporary assignments.
Qualifications
- Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a Mother Baby, Postpartum, or OB/GYN setting.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP required.
- Skills: Proficiency in postpartum assessments, breastfeeding support, and patient education.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work 12-hour shifts and respond to urgent situations.
- Travel Readiness: Open to temporary travel assignments.
