Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Monitor maternal and newborn vital signs and recovery progress.
• Assist with breastfeeding and lactation support.
• Educate new mothers on postpartum care, newborn care, and safety.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and screenings for both mother and baby.
• Recognize and respond to postpartum complications or neonatal distress.
• Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and postpartum nurses.
• Travel to various hospitals and mother-baby units for temporary assignments.

Qualifications

• Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a Mother Baby, Postpartum, or OB/GYN setting.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP required.
• Skills: Proficiency in postpartum assessments, breastfeeding support, and patient education.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work 12-hour shifts and respond to urgent situations.
• Travel Readiness: Open to temporary travel assignments.
