Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals, including assessments and treatments.

• Respond to medical emergencies, including injuries, overdoses, and acute illnesses.
• Assist with intake screenings and routine health assessments.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with correctional officers and healthcare staff to ensure safe and effective care.
• Educate patients on chronic disease management and preventive healthcare.
• Follow security protocols and maintain a professional demeanor in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s).
• Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in corrections, emergency medicine, or public health.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations and work in a secure environment.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
• Willingness to comply with facility-specific security procedures.
