Job Overview

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health specializing in Adolescent and Child Mental Health for travel assignments. The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to young patients experiencing psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral challenges in inpatient or outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor children and adolescents with mental health disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and crisis de-escalation techniques.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, interventions, and response to treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal mental health regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN preferred).
  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact license).
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent de-escalation training preferred.
    • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC) certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of behavioral health nursing experience, preferably with children or adolescents.
  • Skills:
    • Strong therapeutic communication and crisis intervention skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally challenging environment.
    • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral modification techniques.
  • Travel Readiness: Must be willing to relocate temporarily for travel assignments.
