Job Overview

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Apheresis to perform specialized blood collection and therapeutic apheresis procedures. This role involves working with patients requiring plasma exchange, red cell exchange, platelet collection, and stem cell harvesting while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Perform apheresis procedures, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, plateletpheresis, and leukapheresis
• Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions and complications
• Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of apheresis equipment
• Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, hematologists, and blood bank teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients on the apheresis process, potential risks, and post-procedure care
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment logs, and compliance documentation
• Administer IV fluids, anticoagulants, and supportive medications as needed
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in apheresis, critical care, or hematology/oncology
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Apheresis Nursing Certification (APHON or ASFA) preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of anticoagulation management, fluid balance, and transfusion protocols
• Excellent patient care, problem-solving, and communication skills
