Job Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an Ortho Tech for travel assignments in various healthcare facilities. The Ortho Tech will assist orthopedic surgeons and medical teams in preparing patients for orthopedic surgeries, applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, and assisting with diagnostic imaging. This role requires knowledge of orthopedic procedures, the ability to provide patient care, and ensuring proper handling of orthopedic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthopedic surgeons with preoperative and postoperative patient care.
- Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces as needed.
- Support patients during orthopedic assessments and treatments.
- Perform basic orthopedic diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays.
- Provide proper positioning and preparation for orthopedic surgeries.
- Ensure sterile techniques are maintained in the operating room.
- Clean, maintain, and sterilize orthopedic equipment and tools.
- Travel to various healthcare facilities for temporary assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in orthopedic technology or surgical technology is preferred.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ortho Tech or in an orthopedic-related role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of orthopedic procedures, diagnostic equipment, and patient care.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to accept travel assignments.
