Job Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an OR Tech for travel assignments in various healthcare facilities. The OR Tech will assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, ensuring all instruments are sterile, and assisting surgeons during operations. This role requires excellent attention to detail, surgical knowledge, and the ability to maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring it is sterile and equipped with necessary tools and supplies.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during surgeries.
- Maintain sterile techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Set up and monitor surgical equipment to ensure functionality.
- Prepare and handle surgical specimens for lab testing.
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide assistance as needed during surgery.
- Clean and disinfect surgical instruments and the operating room post-surgery.
- Travel to various healthcare facilities for temporary assignments.
Qualifications
- Education: Surgical Technology Certification (CST) or equivalent required.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Tech.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to accept travel assignments.
